Sodalite and Lapis Lazuli can often be confusing even though they are quite different crystals; generally the shade of blue is lighter and brighter in Sodalite which has more white in in than Lapis Lazuli; however sometimes low grade Lapis is a lot paler which can then lead to the mix ups.
