Copal Natural Piece - 13 gm

This is a lovely piece of Copal weighing approximately 13 gm and measures approx. 7.5 by 3 by 0.5 cm at the widest parts; it comes from Madagascar.

Copal is often called "Baby Amber"; they are both tree resins but true Amber will have been in the ground for millions of years while Copal will be anything up to thousands of years. Because of this age difference, although Copal is considered to have the same Esoteric properties, it is not considered as being of any significant value when compared to true Amber.

Copal is not usually as durable as Amber and is likely to develop surface cracking after a while especially when made into jewellery.

Amber

Not strictly a crystal, but an ancient tree resin that has solidified over millennia, may have ancient flora or fauna imbedded in it.
